In the morning, we met with officials in charge of pest and rodent control at the local government office (first photo), and were then taken to the actual mosquito infestation site.

The local government officials explain in detail about the ecology of mosquitoes and how to prevent their occurrence to the residents who look at them with interest (second photo).

Mosquitoes were also surveyed in irrigation canals in pomegranate fields, a specialty of the Aegean and Mediterranean coastal regions (3rd photo).
